Have you a group travelling to Ireland?
As part of your Irish Tour events, The Ceili Experience can be a great added bonus to the visit to Ireland. The class can cater for both male and female students of all ages, culture, nationality and fitness levels. Usually runs for 45 to 90 minutes, depending on your schedule and the group size (minimum 10).
Many Irish based and International Tour Operators offer Fionan Cogan’s Ceili Experience as an option in their programme of events during the trip to Cork, Ireland. The feedback from his class is that it “was the highlight of their time in Ireland!”
How will it work for your tour group?
The emphasis will be on having fun while explaining the steps and movement patterns for
- the 3′s, the 7′s and the swing.
These are used in all the dances thought. The steps and patterns are then put together to form a dance. Each dance builds on the one before it, with something new added or changed each time. Different tempo and style of dances will be taught such as
- Reels, Jigs, Polkas & Slides.
The tour group will gain some knowledge and cultural experience of social Irish Céilí dances, such as the
- Two Hand Reel, Two Hand Jig, Walls of Limerick, Siege of Ennis, etc.
The hotel you are staying at may have a space where your group can use for this event. If not, then we can look into other options for you. This will incur additional cost for the room hire.
Want to add live music?
This is an optional extra that can really add to The Ceili Experience where your tour group can interact with the Traditional Irish musicians. A three piece Ceili Band can come to your venue to play live for the dancing as well as entertainment before and afterwards.
